“Dashir” comes from our names, Darryl and Shirley. Africa was in the prenups and is in our blood. We sold everything but our three kids and moved to Africa! It has been an incredible adventure. Perfect Honeymoon Stay

To start, I’m always a bit skeptical of any business that portrays itself as a “family”. This is a rare situation where there really is no better word to describe the staff at Dashir. Everyone we met was wonderfully kind and we were very quickly made to feel completely at home, thanks in no small part to Shirley’s charisma – if you have your walls up, it won’t take long for her to knock them down! Darryl and Shirley have created a truly unique oasis in the heart of Tanzania. Their exceptional staff took care of our every need and have become family. Their care for each guest helps everyone to “Feel at home in Africa” (Dashir’s motto).
Safari and excursion guides, kitchen and serving staff, all are expertly trained to handle any need we had.
The food prepared in Shirley’s kitchen was extraordinary, including fresh foods from Dashir’s organic garden and orchard. Breakfasts, lunches, and four course dinners were all creative and delicious.
Darryl carefully planned our safari and excursions. His incredible attention to detail was evident in every way.
