“Dashir” comes from our names, Darryl and Shirley. Africa was in the prenups and is in our blood. We sold everything but our three kids and moved to Africa! It has been an incredible adventure. We are thrilled to share the wonder and beauty of Tanzania. Enjoy the amazing wildlife and scenery away from Dashir: on safari, climbing Kilimanjaro, and in Zanzibar. The planning and execution of your adventure is personal and unique. Darryl – aka “The Plan” – will work with you to create a detailed itinerary for your time in Tanzania. No middle person/agent makes for an unbeatable value! A hassle-free experience is our goal, with daily briefings and close attention to every detail; even your tips are looked after! Dashir safaris are private, where you have the flexibility and independence of movement with a dedicated professional driver-guide and vehicle. You make your group of 2 to 12 people (one or two safari jeeps) and then create your customized safari itinerary with Darryl.

Perfect Honeymoon Stay

To start, I’m always a bit skeptical of any business that portrays itself as a “family”. This is a rare situation where there really is no better word to describe the staff at Dashir. Everyone we met was wonderfully kind and we were very quickly made to feel completely at home, thanks in no small part to Shirley’s charisma – if you have your walls up, it won’t take long for her to knock them down! We Have a New Family at Dashir

From start to finish our experience with Dashir was amazing. The resort, staff, service and food were second to none. Our 8 day safari with Jeremiah was spectacular. Goodness knows how he can simultaneously navigate those “roads” and spot wildlife that would have been invisible to us. The planning and pacing of the entire trip was well thought out and meticulous. Darryl, Shirley and their entire team were perfect hosts. We now consider them to be our African family. Beyond the lodge their community outreach is so very inspiring. We would not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family, and already have.

Darryl and Shirley have created a truly unique oasis in the heart of Tanzania. Their exceptional staff took care of our every need and have become family. Their care for each guest helps everyone to “Feel at home in Africa” (Dashir’s motto).
Safari and excursion guides, kitchen and serving staff, all are expertly trained to handle any need we had.
The food prepared in Shirley’s kitchen was extraordinary, including fresh foods from Dashir’s organic garden and orchard. Breakfasts, lunches, and four course dinners were all creative and delicious.
Darryl carefully planned our safari and excursions. His incredible attention to detail was evident in every way.
Beautiful grounds; spacious, lovely, & clean chalets; and an inviting pool are just a few of the amenities.
